| Security: | Public |
Welcome to my home on InsaneJournal. This journal is largely used for posting fic; you can find my personal posts at http://wailing-owl.livejournal.com/. I mainly write in the Harry Potter and Torchwood/Doctor Who fandoms, though I reserve the right to branch out at any time. I write for my own enjoyment and the entertainment of others only, never for profit. All characters and world-building concepts remain the property of their creators and I make no claims on them.
This journal contains fiction with explicit sexual material of homosexual and heterosexual nature. This journal is not friends-locked, because I believe in the right to free speech and don't believe anything I write here is inherently immoral. I do my best to give appropriate warnings and ratings for every piece. If you think you'll be offended, don't click. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO VIEW. I was reading explicit material long before the age the government thought was appropriate and would wager that most other people were, too. If you're a parent and you don't want your children reading this kind of material it's your responsibility to monitor their internet usage.
Well, that's all the boring legal stuff sorted. Enjoy your stay!

I've just got word from faechan that my drabble "Protean" has been translated into Italian by her wonderful community, Fan Translation. It looks absolutely gorgeous, though I don't speak a word of Italian. I have to say, I've never had anything I wrote translated into another language. The idea that anyone enjoyed my words enough to go to that much effort is amazing. Thank you!!
Go check it out, here: http://fantranslation.altervista.org/viewstory.php?sid=13&chapter=1. Enjoy! And if you can't read Italian, have fun using Google language tools to translate it back into English (sort of)!

It had worked.
She stared at her reflection, a dainty cat with bold, black stripes. A cat! It had taken years of solitary struggle. Even her mentor, Albus, hadn’t performed the Animagus transformation. Albus! Wait until he found out! In uncharacteristic giddiness, she darted round the room and bolted out the door. This was indescribable. The stretch of four perfectly proportioned legs – better than Quidditch. She couldn’t wait to see the look on Albus’ face when she told him.
She bounded up the stairs and skidded to a halt at his feet. I did it! She opened her mouth.
“Meow?"

Though these have been posted over at my LJ account (http://wailing-owl.livejournal.com/,) I thought I would post them here as well. All are exactly 100 words and written before DH, and most were also posted to the hp100 communtity on LiveJournal. Protean won the Best Drabble award at the Quill to Parchment Awards, round one.
