I've just got word from faechan that my drabble "Protean" has been translated into Italian by her wonderful community, Fan Translation. It looks absolutely gorgeous, though I don't speak a word of Italian. I have to say, I've never had anything I wrote translated into another language. The idea that anyone enjoyed my words enough to go to that much effort is amazing. Thank you!!

She stared at her reflection, a dainty cat with bold, black stripes. A cat! It had taken years of solitary struggle. Even her mentor, Albus, hadn’t performed the Animagus transformation. Albus! Wait until he found out! In uncharacteristic giddiness, she darted round the room and bolted out the door. This was indescribable. The stretch of four perfectly proportioned legs – better than Quidditch. She couldn’t wait to see the look on Albus’ face when she told him.

She bounded up the stairs and skidded to a halt at his feet. I did it! She opened her mouth.

“Meow?"
